If we are really watching a show then the good guys are, supposedly, in controll and are causing all the destruction we're seeing.

No. It means that they win at the end. So you're supposed to be reassured. The opponent is evil and will cause as much damage as possible. Nobody said it was easy or no casualties.

I felt like this once...I adopted a dog. She gave me unconditional love, and in return, I had a reason to live. Sometimes just a small thing like treating an animal the way you want to be treated turns into you getting the companionship you need. Dog spelled backwards is God....get a doG. Instant love. It may change your life.

I bought a dog too.

Between work and taking care of her and the house the days are just flying by.

I know a lot of others have said encouraging things and everyone is correct in their respected ways.

Being a USCG Vet and someone who had to deal with many situations of suicidal shipmates I worked along side of and some that no one knew was suicidal, I’d like to just remind you that we are all in this fight together and we all are here for one another and if one feels weakened or falls down, or 100, we all are here to help with any situation and in any capacity we can no matter the circumstances.

So to whatever we can do for you to help, encourage, or if anything else for someone to hear you out, plz speak out to anyone on here and it goes for anyone who might be in the same situation to never feel like your weakened or like you can’t because more times then not we just fall off course and need to a little help to get back on the main road just like we would do if we asks Siri or google for directions. Stay strong 💪

So true. I have been absorbing the mess in Maui and the fear porn over new lockdowns just when I planned a trip to a blue state to visit my son. But I feel better now after reading the responses and a bit of ice cream plus a nap. Bless you!

Yup, thinking of giving up,
have that feeling daily,

more work cause another is leaving
that I had trained, again!
I told the boss I'm just trying to make it to the end of the year,
then retire, his problem not mine

I took the early retirement July of this year. Had enough. Me and the wife are best friends again and I love doing projects around the house. We go on short one or 2 day trips where we can drive to and eating at great restaurants. We are living on a third of what I used to make but it's working. My wife has always been a stay at home mom and I was the sole income. It's a decision you have to make between what's more important to you , your time or your profession. It's a tough one but I made the right one.

Took me 3 attempts and a lot of bs to fig out that was not a good choice for me. I understand how you feel. It is a dark place and feels alone, helpless even. Had several doctors look at my records afterward and ask me how tf i am still here. Cussed my mom, wife, you name it. It is hard and feels pointless at times.
Good thing you're here fren. I did not have this kind of support back in the day. Hold on another day. then another. one day at a time and we all get through this. You are not here by accident. Take a breather, have a smoke. It is always darkest before dawn.
