My 23 year old son, born profoundly deaf bilaterally, had his first cochlear implant surgery at 2 years of age in his left ear. Then his second implant in his right ear at 12 years of age. My Dad had a pacemaker. His brain died a week before his heart. WE thought he died and was gone so many times, but the pacemaker would jolt him back. Oh the memories🤦♀️. My Mom has had two pacemakers, got double jabbed and is now scheduled to see *specialist* for (heart) *pacemaker* problems. They couldn't see her right away.... they busy😠

Just my opinion VK, but I don't think pacemakers would make one a transhuman. Am thinking if pacemakers made one a transhuman,, then so would dental implants, cataracts lens replacements, hip joint replacements, screws and plates to hold bones together, etc. I think of those as more like a crutch/aid to help one live better without really changing the body, and yet keeping heart and soul, and not changing one's basic biology. However, I do think changing one's DNA would be considered transhuman. jmho, anyways....

This is a fascinating question VK. Being a critical care nurse, i do not think so. Pacemakers simply aide in regulating the electrical pulse rate and beat of the heart muscle. It wouldnt work if the persons own heart wasn’t “alive”.
