Gracious God, may we have a spirit of generosity and see all your children as worthy of Your saving acts. Amen.

In VA, we also lived by woods backing up to our backyard. I saw a mouse once on the mantle cleaning himself. I thought, cool, free pet, so I fed him and talked to him, he listened. I had hamsters growing up so this was normal to me. The ladies at work thought I was nuts, said he probably put a flashing sign out back saying, "come here, she feeds us". I thought that was funny cause I only ever seen the one. Then my husband had enough and set out traps. 16 dead mice and lots of tears later, I realized those ladies were right.

A PRAYER FOR BUILDING OTHERS UP

God, forgive me for the times my words have brought hurt rather than hope. I want my words to represent You and to build others up. Let my tongue be quick to give grace, encouragement, and healing. May I speak words that bring life--not only to others, but also to myself. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

A PRAYER TO ENDURE TRIALS

God, You promise to bless those who remain faithful to You in trials. Thank You for seeing my pain and hardship and not allowing it to go unnoticed. Thank You for promising to reward my perseverance one day. When I face hard times, help me to grow into the person You have called me to be. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

We have the most wonderful priest from Ethiopia here. He has lovely sermons and speaks of angels and demons. He will say demons have no power over you, and he is already conquered, but people seeking relief come to his morning mass during the week. Twice now I have witnessed this.
