Dear Lord, We are thankful for our relationship with You and are eager to share the Gospel! We will continue our studies and rely on Your Spirit for knowledge as we speak to others. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

We have found peace and understanding by accepting Christ as our Lord and Savior and are eager to share the Gospel with everyone! We connect with non-believers through actions and words by maintaining consistency and knowledge. We must meet people where they are and explain Scripture clearly; so everyone has an opportunity to understand. Our witness is our priority as we interact with people daily, and we will rely on the Holy Spirit to direct us to those who do not know Him.

A PRAYER OF PEACE

God, thank You for the perfect peace that comes from being Your child. It's through nothing that I've done, but by faith in You alone. I love that I can talk to You at any time and You embrace me as Your own--despite my mess and mistakes. Thank You for this undeserved gift! In Jesus' Name, Amen.

FULFILLMENT OF GOD'S PROMISES

Hundreds of years before Jesus, the people of God were in trouble.

They were stuck in life, unable to help themselves, and perhaps beginning to doubt that God woud save them. Have you ever felt the same way? If so, you might relate to the original audience of this verse--the exiles in Babylon

The Babylonians conquered God's people and land, sending them hundreds of miles away. Maybe they thought that God had abandoned them, or that He couldn't hear their cries. But God is always close--especially when His people call on His name.

Isaiah let his people know that God would provide a way out of Babylonian captivity. And God kept His promise, allowing His people to return home.

WE WAIT FOR HIM

Advent is a time for waiting. It's an interesting time, four weeks, to wait for Christmas; four weeks to wait for Jesus to come again. Ever wonder why four weeks?

The numbers 4, 40, 400, 4000 have significance to the Jewish people. I once attended a lecture by a Hebrew study's teacher. She spoke about this and told us that the 40 years in the desert, among other uses of the number 4, described a period of waiting for new birth based on the gestation period of a human child.
