SUPER-ULTRA DOG COMM, THERE!

Kat, the one time I went to New York City (and everyone in the Big Apple instantly KNEW I wasn't from anywhere near there), you know what I still remember warmly?
The DOGGIE PARK at Central Park. 🐕🐩🦮🐾

I know that sounds funny, but the thing is Country Dogs just don't get along like that! Big Dogs running around playing with little Small Yappy Dogs and not one of them fighting! I was like, WOW! WHAT'S GOIN' ON HERE? 😂

Then it occurred to me, these NYC doggies aren't running around chasing cattle or rabbits all day, they're cooped up in tall apartments and high-rises day & night until their Humans take them down to Central Park!
THEY CAN'T WAIT TO SEE EACH OTHER AND JUST PLAY!
That's like the highlight of their life every day in New York City! Every single DOG Happy and playing all together - I was stunned, but in a good way!

That's how it'll be on Earth with the CABAL GONE.
Everyone happy and playin' together!
AND NO LEASHES!!!

My CHRISTmas is today! Family and some friends. Table is set, Turkey is in the oven, ham going in next! Green bean casserole, blueberry cider, ham and scalloped potatoes, and apple pie for desert!!!

God, no matter what, there is something to praise You for today. Strip away my selfish desires so I can see Your blessings. Open my eyes and reveal Your goodness. Teach me to dwell in Your presence with a heart that overflows in gratitude. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

A PRAYER TO SEEK GOD

God, it's when I seek You that I find You. So today, help me to intentionally draw near to You. Give me the courage to shift my attention off of my circumstances and onto You. I want to rely on You completely by coming to You first--above anything else. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

A PRAYER TO LIVE LIKE IT MATTERS

Jesus, I don't want to lose what matters most by focusing on momentary things. So please help me. When I am tired, please strengthen me. When living a comfortable life seems more appealing than following you unconditionally--please convict and correct me. Give me the strength to trust in You. I know that You are worth living and dying for, but please help me to live like it. Amen.

JESUS IS LORD

No matter how good you are, how hard you try, or how decent of a person you attempt to be, when it comes to following Christ, you can't earn your way to God. You can't do enough good things to tip the scales in your favor. You can't buy, win, impress, or manipulate your way into salvation.

But Jesus has already purchased your freedom on a cross and offered it to you as a gift.

But you do have one joy, as Paul describes in his letter to the Romans...

"If you declare with your mouth, ' Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:9 NIV

Many people believe that Jesus was a real, historical person. Many people believe that Jesus was a genuinely good man. But the Bible says that even the demons believe there's only one God--and shudder (James 2:19).

I WANT TO WALK AS A CHILD OF THE LIGHT

This is one of my favorite hymns, and the second line is "I want to follow Jesus." In the common lectionary, today is the fast of St. John the Evangelist. Tradition always pictures this Apostle as a young man, and if he lived into the second century, or close to it, he must have been pretty young when he joined his brother James to follow Jesus. Jesus tells us that we must become as little children with their innocence and ability to believe if we want to enter eternal life with Him. This is such an appropriate feast to celebrate so soon after Christmas as this is a season that children of all ages enjoy.

Steadfast Savior,

Help me find Joy in the midst of brokenness. One of the hardest times for me to be joyful is when I'm dealing with multiple problems--seeking solutions but finding none--and then suddenly I'm faced with a new problem. I've fount that if I focus too much on searching for solutions. I start to sink under the weight of all my difficulties. Please remind me at such times that You are present with me in the midst of my various trials. I need to trust that You're at work in my situation and that You're able to bring good out of evil. Your matchless wisdom and sovereign strength enable You to outsmart evil with good!

I am preparing you for what is on the road ahead, just around the bend. Take time to be still in My Presence so that I can strengthen you. The busier you become, the more you need this time apart with Me. So many people think that time spent with Me is a luxury they cannot afford. As a result, they live and work in their own strength--and that becomes depleted. Then they either cry out to Me for help or turn away in bitterness.

How much better it is to walk close to Me, depending on My strength and trusting Me in every situation. If you live in this way, you will do less but accomplish far more. Your unhurried pace of living will stand out in this rush-crazed age. Some people may deem you lazy, but many more will be blessed by your peacefulness. Walk in the Light with Me, and you will reflect Me to the watching world.
