I'm also trying to get the garden going again & have planted 12 lbs of seed potatoes in some huge woven plastic bins... and I'm sore all over, LOL.

Wayne is working & just had a checkup last week. They doc said "maybe" he'd be able to be fitted for dentures... The contour of the new bone is not the same as the old one, so they'll have to build up the denture on one side. I hope they can do that. No doubt, it will be expensive.

Meanwhile, we just keep working to get ahead. The friend who gave us Rocky is opening a farmers' market in Moss Point, so we will be getting hand fed ribeyes for $5/lb! Eggs $2/dz, sausage 99 cents/ lb... Lots of Amish folks there with cheeses & breads, etc. I will have my own booth to sell my soaps (although who will pay $8 for a bar of soap, I don't know, LOL).
So I'm making pine needle baskets

First, they'll calculate losses to the corporate world.
Then, maybe mom & pop locally-owned stores.
Landlords, etc.
Folks with small businesses...
and on down the line to the people who decided to exit early.

But they will never be able to calculate the REAL cost to each human - the heartache, suffering, loss of family, rejection, humiliation, shaming,
lying, denial & other "excuses" for division... Dividing us against ourselves. Two generations enstupidated by colleges & universities. A new generation deprived of the most basic learning.

That cost cannot be calculated.

We went to have Wayne's stomach tube out (600 mile round trip from Mobile, LA to New Orleans, LA), very exhausting with that traffic...

They charged us for the doc's assistant, the bandaid they put on it, and $750... And all the resident did was give it a twist & a twaddle & pull. There was no star tip, no balloon, nada. And we paid close to $1,000 for that 20-minute appointment after they told me it had to be removed by a SURGEON!

IF I had known what type of tip it had, we'd have done it at home. Bandaid & you're done. Completely healed in 2 days.

We cancelled our last appointment b/c my car needs new plugs & injectors. We'll call them when we're ready.

That will put us nicely outside "the window of effecacy for radiation," according to Dr. RockStar, LOL.

Choosing our battles, we'll follow up locally, outside Ochsner.

My husband had 1/2 his lower jaw removed & they grafted in a piece of bone from his leg...

The surgeon said they got it all, so no worries, then. Nope, not at all interested in radiation or chemo...

Surgery was August 10 & he's been back at work since Monday.

He gets a shotglass of pomegranate juice laced with 0.024ml of Ivermectin injectable (Noromectin) daily... My dose is a bit higher.

I NOTICED he doesn't get up at night anymore! And he's back to pissing like a racehorse. He didn't realize it at first, but after a week on the sauce, it was noticeable to me.

I'm still waiting for my "age spots" to disappear, but I seem to be having less inflammation in my shoulders.

And he's got backup!

And once we DO realize it, we'll be forming asskicking clubs to kick ourselves for ever letting them dumb us down...

Or ozone treatments for the blood to get rid of an infection, instead of antibiotics... CHEAP & very much ahead of the US, sadly.

You can get cured of Lyme Disease for about $100 down there.

We were grateful for it. It was so hot & we had been driving for an hour & a half looking for any hotel with a vacancy, with only about $60 until payday, LOL...

We got cool dark space to rent for $49, so it worked out just fine, after that 2nd trip past the house so we could sleep clean & then launder the bedding again.

One night here, after a hurricane knocked out all the electric, in our rented house with windows painted shut for 30 years, 90 degrees & steam... we could only find one hotel with a vacancy.

There was somebody's razor lying on the bed & towels on the floor, etc. - i.e., they never even cleaned it...

I made hubs take me back to the house & brought our own bedding with us, along with my trusty 9mm.

Nervous night, but at least a cool one.

So many folks in the South will be totally screwed if the power is out for long.

I love our home now; windows everywhere, really good double-pane ones, and we catch all the right breezes when there area any.

We've gone almost a month now without having to use either heater or a/c.

Painting windows shut is so stupid on so many levels.

On the border where we lived, folks spoke more of a "Brasilguayo" so I never did learn straight Portuguese.

All the best stuff was on the Brasil side. We bought our car there, regularly smuggled meat & veg, because they always had avocados & so much more Uruguay didn't have.

In Uruguay, only 3 small counties try to grow enough produce for the whole country, but their delivery is horrible & our area received only the most disgusting veggies...

Then we'd have a tornado & all growers would ramp up the prices to "rebuild," so a kilo of peppers that cost 35 pesos went up to 145 pesos!

We avoided a lot of bullshit just going to the Brasil side of Chuy/Chuy to get our groceries... except for wine & liquor. Uruguay has better wine & liquor.

I must be watching too many crime shows... so I asked a lady I know who works at a local hotel on I-65. She said they send them out every 6 months for a good cleaning, the comforters.

Sheets are supposedly laundered between guests, but she's had to send some "clean" sheets back to the laundry, LOL.

I don't stay in hotels if I can help it. Worst case, I can bunk in the back of my truck, LOL.

We lived in Uruguay for 5-1/2 years, about 90km from the Southern tip of Brazil, Chui.

We always went to the Brazil side to buy most of our food; if it was fruit & veg, we had to smuggle it, LOL.
