Thanks! I do think there is a lot of strange stuff around here (and in many other spots around the world). I have been trying to wrap my head around what any of this even looks like in the future… a year, ten years, whatever. It is not about time, rather how amazing and different life can be. The illusion must be shattered and that is where my own vision just kind of stops - like, what then? The scenes, the smells, the understanding… just all of it. I suppose I cannot limit myself to a dream which I may plug in just to satisfy the blank canvas and this is why those visions evade me. It feels like it will be bigger and more glorious than the imagination allows.

I have been here since 2002, and aside from road construction and various other obnoxious building projects, I honestly do not recall. That does not mean I drive to the airport all the time though either. We also have interesting weather here, which can mean they will shut I70 down in either direction with little to no notice due to snow, blowing snow, or ice. One section of I70 (in the Glenwood Canyon area) even shuts down if they have too much rain because it can flood the canyon roads in a flash. It seems like shutting down a major interstate for any length of time could cause other stuff to back up and there are not always ways to get around it using other roads. My mind wanders a bit on these things…

Yep, that was just numbers from the initial rebuild effort, not including all the stuff that was done (or keeps being done) after that. I did not know the white hat DUMB story 🤕
I do believe it has an unbelievably huge footprint despite what can be seen.

Suddenly I feel some hope for my community. I have always known Polis would not call in the Nat Guard for such things. In the tweens, I was just waiting to see the clash between local gov and the feds under Project Aurora… followed by all the caterwauling march of the pussy hat crowd… however with you pointing this out, it would appear that military is actually the right way to cut to the chase.

I actually think I like the new police chief in Aurora, he seems to know a bit and I do know he is in a delicate spot between the local government and the ones who stir contempt towards the police. He is not a sheriff. He still seems like the right guy to run the gauntlet here for the short game. His diplomacy seems necessary to get this ball rolling in the right direction.

I like this new police chief. He has to dance around the crappy politics of this state, the federal gov role (or lack thereof) and the intricacies of his own city territory, but he is actually saying more and more about all the considerations at least. God love this man, I kinda hope he sticks around a bit.
