Myles Goodwyn left such a long lasting legacy. This song, from the Harder Faster album, was one of my faves. It's just so different musically and a unique time signature. It was difficult to learn all those years ago when I played in a band. Side note to April Wine...Jerry Mercer was their drummer and he is a monster. Considered one of the best powerhouse drummers in the business. This guy was in the pocket and some. I learned a lot of my drumming technique listening to his parts over and over.

We lost another great musician, singer and songwriter over the weekend. Myles Goodwyn. He was the driving force, singer and main songwriter for April Wine. They were fantastic straight ahead guitar driven rock and roll. Their seminal album "Harder Faster" was the soundtrack for my Senior year in high school. I still listen to that album when I'm on the road. He hailed from Nova Scotia and the entire band was from Canada. April Wine heavily influenced my direction as a musician and they were a fantastic live band. Here is Myles Goodwyn in his prime. Keep on jamming in rocknroll heaven, Myles.

Big turnaround in a ruling. The fact this case even got as far as it did and put this man in prison for a spell, should have everyone questioning our justice system. I became a minimalist about 5 years ago when I moved from Houston. There was a point in my life where I lived in a very large house by the beach in Los Angeles and had 3 storage units on top of that. 2 in Los Angeles and 1 in Idaho. All that money spent on storage units for over 20 years and it just sat there. Getting rid of everything was a tremendous burden lifted off me physically, psychologically and spiritually. I have what I need now and I don't need much. It's not for everyone but for those that are thinking about it, I highly recommend starting down that minimalist path.
