ahhh. so nice to see our families are all alike.. i dont have libs but i do have sleepers- most of them. i gave that all up years ago and they dont even care about not corresponding anymore.. so be it.. i was the black sheep anyway.. not sure why but i was, i never said boo except when i didnt want to do xyz. they lose..i know who i am. they are still wondering who they are.. send a card wishing them a future of love and hope. no gifts. when the kids ask why you could tell them but momma wont let you. i used to think eventually they would wake up...my eldest gdaughter is 24. still lives at home.no friends. total of 10 words in communication in 4 years.. i keep them. my g son also 24 havent seen him since he was 17. lost soul and knew that would happen. crazy mother. my son disconnected as could never make it work. my baby g daughter is 12. thanking God for her... and my daughter altho asleep.

I still want my family to get help, so I pray every day for them.

But no more verbal abuse because they cannot control me. I will not tolerate it anymore.

I have 2 children-in July my daughter called complaining that I would not pay off her home & not give her $4000. - long story
4 years ago my second to oldest grandson called & said "I want a baby" I said (knowing he is gay) "then marry a woman" we went back n' forth with the same answers-he started to rant & rave at me (mind you NO ONE yells at me) so I hung up (the power of the phone) my son has not talked to me since....longer story but this is where I stand & refuse to change ME. I found people on here are more of a family. Waitress care more than my family...when the money stops-the love stops

The kids have not said thank you for any gifts for the last 5 years.

I just have a different attitude about it now, for the first time, because the kids now have a choice of how to treat me.

KIds don't think they ever have to say thank you for anything. They feel entitled.

Sounds like a stocking full of coal might the the most approprate gift if any is given.

I was gobsmacked by my parents behavior and my siblings reaction to the things we endured.

If someone doesn't set limits with a kid who doesn't have enough curtesy in their body to say thank you for a gift, then they do not deserve to get another.

Go to the dollar store and get a lovely spiritual themed Christmas card, address to the daughter, and write a kind note explaining that you cannot afford any of her gift requests this year. If you want to include a gift card for a small amount like $25 or so that she can use towards a purchase of something. Just an idea. 😉

I am on the spiritual Christmas card agenda as of yesterday. I went yesterday to the Dollar Store and bought a bunch of cards with that in mind. And they all say Merry Christmas, not this happy holiday garbage.

I am not shopping for junk this year. At least cash will pay for groceries or gas for parents, and children that I don't see all year long don't seem to appreciate what I send for them.
