There are some concerning possibilities of motive. I worry about the contracts to rebuild Ukraine given to Black Rock. Most of the moneys given to Ukraine by Biden went to MIC contracts and political payoffs. Very little, if any, made it to the people of Ukraine or helped them in any way. Arguably, US and NATO help has decimated their country and killed two generations of young men.

Those minerals belong to the Ukrainian people. The US has no moral claim.

But they would really help Black Rock lift massive profits.

Unless there's another twist in this story (and there likely is) I disagree with the war profiteering.

It could be as simple as not having the correct ambient air pressure set on the altimeter. That, coupled with a congested airspace, crew who didn't train together, and incorrectly identifying other traffic, could explain everything.
