One night as I stood along side my infants crib admiring the delicate softness of his skin, his fine hair glimmering in the light as it trickled in from the hallway, I thought of our heavenly Father. Knowing He must have peered down from heaven at His own Son. Supposing He never cradled Him in His arms, I wondered what it must have been like knowing one day this tiny infant would die a horrible and agonizing death because of and for our sins. My small mind cannot fathom that kind of strength, courage, and love.

Heavenly Father, strong yet gentle, this Christmas time we'll light a candle and hold our children you have given and think of Jesus and of heaven. We'll ponder of the love You've shown to all your children, young and old. We'll glimpse amazed at loves true meaning come down from heaven with promise beaming. We'll see the strength, the love, the grace. We'll see the burden You watched Him face. We'll see a child who loved His Father, who took the cross to be our Savior. We'll see the love You showed to Him, You conquered death, He rose again. We'll see our child asleep tonight and know your love does reach great heights. Love... unconditional... so... for a while, we'll ponder the cross and see a child.
