A PRAYER FOR LOVING OTHERS BETTER

God, thank You for showing me what real love looks like. Thank You for giving me Your Word--so that I can know the difference between right and wrong; between good and evil. I want to know the love that rejoices in the truth. Help me to love others the way that You have loved me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

SHOW ME YOU'RE NEAR

Our Father in Heaven, thank You for making a way for me to come home. As I wait in the wilderness, set my feet on the path that leads to life. Thank You for being with me--for never leaving me. I trust that one day You will make all things new. Amen.

A PRAYER FOR GOD TO KNOW MY HEART

God, You know me better than anyone else in this world. Test my heart--so it can look more and more like Yours. Jesus, thank You for lovign me enough to want to protect my heart. Will you give me a passion to guard what is valuable? To keep watch over what and who is influencing me? I want my lfie to reflect that You are my top priority. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

WHAT'S INSIDE OF YOU?

Have you ever made a poor decision and thought, "Why did I do that?"

In the Old Testament, the heart was considered the center of inner life, and people believed it dictated thoughts, emotions, and actions. It was essentially a combination of someone's soul and mind.

When Proverbs 4:23 tells us to "guard our hearts," what it's essentially saying is to pay careful attention to how you fill your inner life.

What goes into your soul and mind determines what comes out of your mouth. And what you say influences your actions and decisions. While you might not notice the effect of your choices have on you today--over time, they will impact the direction of your life.

BLESSED ARE YOU WHO BELIEVED

Faith! That's what Mary had, and that's the gift given to us by God in our baptism. In faith, Mary believed the angel's message. In faith, she traveled to her cousin Elizabeth's home. In faith, she would teach her son that He was the Son of God, and she would follow Him to His death, and remain with His disciples so that they would not lose faith afer He returned ome to His Father. What do we do with our gift of faith? Why can it be so easily shaken? How many times have we "lost" faith - in God, in others, even in ourselves?

Come to Me in all your neediness, with defenses down and with a desire to be blessed. As you spend time in My Presence, your deepest longings are fulfilled. Rejoice in your neediness, which enables you to find ultimate completion in Me.

Jesus, thank You for loving me, forgiving me, and healing me. The only way was through Your sacrifice on the cross. You gave me everything so that I could be made whole. Thank You! Help me to live with that truth as the foundation of everything I am, and everything I do. In Your Name I Pray. Amen.

A PRAYER TO KEEP RUNNING

God, thank You that life with You is a race worth running. I want to be like Paul. At the end of my life, I want to be able to say that I have fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. Please teach me how to live this out. And give me the endurance to keep running to and fighting for You! In Jesus' Name, Amen.

GOD GIVES GOOD GIFTS

There are seasons in our lives when we are more discouraged than encouraged. It's inevitable that all of us will experience those moments, and it's often in the face of insurmountable grief or negative experiences that this happens.

But Romans 15:5 reminds us that there are three things that God gives to those who believe in Jesus. The first is that God gives endurance. When we begin to grow tired of doing good things, or living our life for God, it's often because we are living with the wrong motivation.

True motivation comes from living for God, not ourselves. It is God who gives us the endurance through the Spirit to make good choices and live for Him.

Beloved Jesus,

When my mind and heart are quiet, I can hear You inviting me to draw near. I delight in Your glorious invitation, proclaimed in holy whispers: "Come to Me. Come to Me. Come to Me." Drawing near to You requires no great effort on my part; it's more like surrendering to You and ceasing to resist the magnetic pull of Your Love.

Help me, through Your Spirit, to open myself more fully to Your loving Presence so that I may be filled to the measure of all Your fullness. I yearn to have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is Your Love for me--and to know this Love that surpasses knowledge. This vast ocean of Love cann be measured or explained, but it can be experienced.

I am with you in all that you do, even in the most menial task. I am always aware of you, concerned with every detail of your life. Nothing escapes My notice--not even the number of hairs on your head. However, your awareness of My Presence falters and flickers; as a result, your life experience feels fragmented. When your focus is broad enough to include Me in your thoughts, you feel safe and complete. When your perception narrows so that problems or details fill your consciousness, you feel empty and incomplete.

Learn to look steadily at Me in all your moments and all your circumstances. Though the world is unstable and in flux, you can experience continuity through your uninterrupted awareness of My Presence. Fix your gaze on what is unseen, even as the visible world parades before your eyes.
