Remember when they stopped the war for awhile for release of hostages. During that time, Hamas booby trapped many dwellings and when the IDF went in, many soldiers were killed or badly injured by the booby traps. The IDF had to stop going in with troops; they used drones that set off the bombs left there. Aerial bombing was also necessary to clear the bombs before men could safely enter.

On hostage actually escaped and almost made it the Israeli border. Some local Gazans caught him and brought him back to those in charge.
