It will take about a year, I think. We've decided not to do the radiation & chemo, because we all know what damage they do.

If anyone does not know, just ask Dennis1776, he's been through it - radiation & chemo AT THE SAME TIME! 😱

Squamous cell carcinoma is one of the most easily cured cancers. As soon as Wayne is allowed drinks, he will be getting distilled water with some baking soda in it to help with pH issues...

When we get home, we both go on a program of Ivermectin (I have some issues with residual from a bad mold exposure in 2017 & I'm just betting the IVM will help me, too.)

I'll be meeting with the dietician to explain why we don't want any shakes or formulas that contain soy or canola oil (hard on pancreas & liver). I'll give her my own recipe & ask if he wants to "tweak it." If he insists on pushing something else, well, then, his services will not be required.

He always has been, too. I can't understand why some people don't believe in God. NOT having a relationship with Creator makes no sense to me at all... Kind of insane, I think.

Call Him Creator, Grandfather, The Almighty, or by whatever name you understand the Incredible Force that gave us all life.

I hope that our journey through this will serve as an inspiration & help build the faith of everyone who reads it.

Antidote, my heart was breaking for him yesterday. He had deep bone pain from the leg they took it from (an 18" scar, because they had to get bone PLUS an artery connected to it PLUS a good vein, PLUS a good-sized piece of skin to fashion into gums for him again). The procedure is getting quite famous; it's called the "Flap," and we have reconstructive specialist - Dr. Eid - whom I believe is from the mid-east, who did the graft & microsuturing of the blood vessels. If the vessels fail, the bone graft fails, we have the Doppler. Tomorrow, Wayne will be out of the "danger period."

He also had "road rash" pain of the thigh, & facial pain from having all that stretching & shifting about of tissues & nerve endings, a sore place where they put the feeding tube to his stomach & a headache on top of it all.

Told him, "This is the last day of the bad pain, let's breathe through this together," and put some lavender oil on his gown where he could inhale it.

I will call right now. I've been waiting, but Wayne has the TV on while he's sleeping (aaarrrgh!), and I've been up & down, fetching & suctioning & adjusting sheets & blankets, getting him ice, etc.

I won't sleep until I get home, most likely, Sis, but at least I can lie down full length! The 1950's-era "recliner" in the other room was a torture table with wooden arms to make your elbows nervy & achy...

But I'm good with the pull out loveseat. The end extends & you use the back cushions to make the "bed." I can stretch out & rest my back at night, at least. One would think a hospital such as this would have more ergonomic furniture, but I'm just grateful to have a place to rest my back.

Once we get home, away from the machines beeping, woosh-wooshing, and people coming in for finger sticks & vital signs...
He will sleep just fine in his own cushy bed & I will sleep in the recliner so as not to disturb...

His recovery will progress by leaps & bounds then!

I know it will hit me later - the enormous cost of everything. I'm aware that it will be way more than $5,000... But I can't be bothered thinking about that now - that's what I asked Grandfather (God) to handle for us, because the whole subject just terrifies me.

Yesterday, Wayne was trying to pay our electric & some other bills by phone... but I didn't have enough money left in my account to cover them & still have gas to get us home at the end of the week, so we waited...

The kids can help us cover utilities. Disability won't kick in for 3-4 months, but it should be retroactive to appllication date when it does.

I just can't allow myself to think about that now because I'll turn into a puddle. Much better to focus on

The anesthesiologist, pre-op, had told us both that we had to have the PCR test ever 48 hours while in the hospital & that we would require the vax in order to go home... I informed him that that would NOT be happening, since the "virus" had yet to be isolated in a lab and we do not kowtow to hysteria. Then I informed him that there were far superior ways to deal with Covid than the vax... if, indeed, Covid actually exists in other than bioweapon form...

Asshole looked me straight in the eye & said, "That's why we wear these masks; because it spreads like wildfire."

I reported this to Dr. Hasney, who assured me that we did not have to comply. I said, "Damn right, because that is against the Nuremburg Code & Nuremburg 2.0 is already underway in Germany!" (I had come armed with my Nuremburg memes on my phone, LOL)

Auntie M, Dennis1776 has been practically holding my hand since surgery day. We had everything planned out for the kids to be here in NOLA vacationing during the surgery, but then it was pushed back a week... But that's OK because Dr. Hasney was here to do his Stage 1 of the surgery himself, freshly back from vacation. Still, I was all my byself in the big city & he knew it & held my hand through the 10 LONG hours of surgery. Bless his darling wife for sharing her husband with me!

Wayne had 3 surgical teams - Dr. Hasney removed the old jaw bone (and told me later he was able to take 30% less than he had thought because the bone was still healthy on the right side)! I'm claiming that as part of the healing God began BEFORE the surgery!

@QakeLady told me last Wednesday that she & her mom had prayed he got out of surgery early & so it came to pass!

Dr. Hanson spoke with me at 6pm to tell me it went great & finished over 45 min. early..
