Dars, I started studying Aikido when I was a teen and always dreamed of going to Japan to learn Japanese, train and also watch their Master Sword-Makers in action. Haven't had the chance to ever do that, cuz life got in the way, but maybe after the Victory Celebrations and roll out of Medbeds, high speed Maglev trains and such that'll be my next adventure. Would be AWESOME! ๐

I was forced to take Aikido by my Dad when I was 12 and didn't want to because I was the only girl in class. Only made it to Green Belt.
Fast forward 20 years, met gym partners who were all taking Kempo Karate (street fighting Karate). Wanted to take it but hubby said NO, because I would use him for practice. LOL
Fast forward now, 30 years, at work met a guy who was Aikido Black belt and he knew my sensei. LOL
I wanted to get a "Hattori Hanzo" samurai sword after watching Kill Bill. LOL My Dad had brought home a samurai sword after his Army stint in Japan & Korea. Not as ornate as the swords I see on tv.
