As for my current predicament, I realize that change is sometimes painful, always difficult, and many times necessary to get us where we need to be. But im a few months shy of 70 and not in any condition to survive being homeless and disabled in LA County. I barely survived it when I was young and healthy 25 years ago. At some point, living with constant pain wears away the will to survive. The added frustration of being limited by the loss of my right hand will almost certainly make suicide a no-brainer.
Unlike most, I have no family to consider. My brother and sister openly despise me and my two daughters haven't been in touch for over 20 years. My materialistic gf nags and belittles me constantly.

I am sorry this happened. Whatever the balance is have it go through Catholic Charity(s) ... the Hospital can do that for you - they have staff that will process the paperwork...

FYI: If you owe a balance on a hospital bill there is NOTHING they can do to collect it - they cant put it on your credit report either. If they send it to collections - even better bc now that company just purchased your debt. DO NOT STRESS OVER THE BILL but see what you can get through donations to help you with the rent and other expenses - NO ONE should ever have to deal with this... an accident or an illness can destroy a persons life financially and it shouldn't... hang in there and prayers for a quick and comfortable recovery.🙏

Thanks VERY MUCH for your concern. It means a lot to get comments like yours. Unfortunately, the medical bill isn't the problem. It's the fact i cant work anymore and will soon be homeless. My right hand suffered permanent nerve damage. Being handicapped like this is something I never expected and it's made life unbearable due to the things I can no longer do.
