Hard to imagine how some don't feel or see the suffering of so many...as well as the compounded difficulty for those like myself who lost provider spouse, jobs/income and have no safety net merely to survive now...some of us into our 60s with no job prospects...they don't even reply to letters or applications filled out...the schools and childcare facilities virtually the only places hiring near me in my hopeless blue state are still mired in the seemingly outdated requirement of a covid vax, no health insurance, 23 yr old car I pray will make it through...family members who have serious hip injuries and don't have adequate insurance coverage so have delayed and in other case forgone surgery that would help them walk without pain and function properly...a daughter who just got engaged but whom I am severely limited in being able to help financially...hard to celebrate much of anything these days....praying on deliverance.

Thank you Rita for your kind words....unfortunately for me at the time, I was young (unwisened), at the bottom of a corporate totem pole in my job, having taken some time off to be with my father, I felt pressure to return to the job, my mother and most of the rest of family stayed. Literally that next day after work I came home to a phone call from my mother that my father had passed....it is terrible how the system works against decent people just trying to live, and honor family...it was a painful lesson that day about not letting such anxiety overcome me...but the thing I most recall was a beautiful blazing sunset in the skies over NYC that evening as I got the news...surely He was sending a message.

This beach one touched me--it reminds me of one of the last places I was in caring for my father--40 yrs ago today he died in Freeport Bahamas, receiving an alternative cancer treatment he could not receive here in the US. The sun, beach and therapy all had great healing power. Though it did not save his life then, it extended it with a quality he also could not receive here in the US and in the process, he felt born again and spoke of being drawn closer to God. He missed most of my adult life, my career, my spouse, children...and now I find myself, cruelly abandoned by a philandering spouse after 3 decades of marriage, kids grown and separated by hundreds of miles, cast somewhat adrift... all a bit too much to bear in my 60th decade drawing closer to God....and wondering on this Maundy Thursday if we are finally nearing go time for the faithful in the blink of an eye.
