The actors playing the lead roles in this movie have the greatest parts in history. Oddly, they are also playing some of the crappiest characters with some of the hammiest acting, too. It is precision engineered absurdity, with the ridiculousness done down to fine tolerances.

When you think about it, this is how it must be. The enemy inverts everything; they have to, so it is internally consistent and aligned. You can't have lies going off at an angle in all directions and in tension if you want the false narrative to be credible. The awake see that the picture is upside down as they look outside the frame/screen at reality.

The process of undoing the brainwashing is inherently farcical. As you flip the image back to the right way up, bit by bit, it has to generate nonsense and dissonance. Slowly you make the mocking go from "conspiracy theorists" to "sleeping sheep", and the social incentive to awaken takes over. "How can you believe that this craziness is not theatre?"
