My boyfriend just got home from drill. He was informed that senior people were required to download signal. He laughed because I already showed him Q post. But he said this has Never been required before in his 20 years of service. He is the guard but also is active on guard side

Wonder if old fashioned landlines will still work. I can't imagine I would ever get my mom to use signal, she won't even text.

Anything that is not dependent on the Internet should work.

Land lines will work as long as the electricity keeps flowing.

Old phones that connect to land line phone jacks have a SEPARATE source of electricity and often still work when the MAIN power goes off.

These phones will work if the INTERNET gets
cut off.

If all electricity sources go down, these phones will NOT work. If this happens and there is no internet, only battery powered satelite phones and battery powered CB or shortwave radios will work dor communication.
