that's the result of getting used to wikipedia. people want everything easy so they don't bother to look it up. they want it fast and easy no matter if it's good, real or a lie as long as they can have it at hand and be part of the group.

Definitely true for some, and that's why it matters.

Someone who posts 20 times a day, every day, to thousands of followers, should be doing due diligence, regardless of whether the followers are *able* to do it themselves. The truth is, many just won't do it themselves because they might have the time to read 100 posts, but not the time or energy to verify every single one of them.

I didn't ask for sources because I am lazy, but because I want to understand the due diligence these people do, which more often than not boils down to none, whatsoever.

And yes, I know, ultimately everyone has their own responsibilities to verify etc. - but the whole reason we are here is because we learned by example that people don't do that, and often just believe what's shoved down their throats hard enough.
