Ghostrider gun aircraft now moving in to Fort Worth after a steady stream of transport aircraft. Eglin air force base is not expecting to really be hit by Ida so why all these aircraft being moved into Fort Worth?

EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. --
As of Aug. 26, Hurricane Ida is located south of Cuba and forecasted to move north-northwest into the Gulf of Mexico late Friday night. As Hurricane Ida continues its north-northwesterly track, it is forecasted to strengthen, but will remain west of the base.

It is expected to make landfall over south central Louisiana as a Category 4 hurricane. At this time, wind impacts to Eglin are expected to be 25 to 35 knots or greater, with two to three inches of rainfall spanning from early Sunday morning into Monday afternoon.

Eglin personnel should be prepared and monitor local weather forecasts, the National Hurricane Center updates, the Eglin website and Facebook page.
