Waco is green, affordable housing and 1 to 2 hours driving distance to Dallas, Austin, San Antonio. I'm in El Paso, where all the immigration stuff is happening, BAD REALLY BAD. Here it's very affordable too but it's not green, it's all desert, lol. Phoenix and Tucson are great to move to as well. You let me know if you want to connect when you come here. I always travel to Waco and back, I have family in San Antonio and Austin, I love it there too. We Texas are friendly, you won't have any problems making new friends ❤️❤️❤️

Do you have any time or people restrictions, like others keeping you from doing it when you want? If so, you could or couldn't take a more time to decide; or perhaps is the crazy going on there that makes you want to do so! The foothills of the Smoky Mountains are rural and very tucked away -- you could choose from any state and even be in the mountains themselves! People in the Southern and mid Western states generally are more friendly than Florida, but that's mine and daughter's experience.

Texas is really hot in the summer. Have you visited? I mean it's like you can't breathe in the humid areas! And I live in a nearby state that is also very hot, but I know Canada is nothing like these. I would consider language for ease of transition -- US prob best? Florida, St Augustine is very nice but it's coastal. Beautiful, but probably expensive. Which part of CA are you coming from?
