Karl, respectfully, you are overlooking the most important factors and are incorrect in your assessment in what Tariffs are doing.

"Free Trade", which is what we have been living under for decades, has completely IMPOVERISHED the American People, putting us in labor competition with countries like Mexico IN A RACE TO THE BOTTOM until we're all like China, where over 900 million workers (2016 stats) earn less than $1 per day.

THAT, the WALMART effect, is why you and I and most Americans can't afford to buy crap.

Countless US manufacturing companies moved their factories and our high-paying jobs to Mexico and China (and countless other low-wage countries) leaving the American Worker to low-income jobs.
THAT'S WHAT FREE TRADE DOES - POVERTY.
Tariffs are the only thing that protects US Workers from their jobs being exported.

What also makes Americans poor is THE FED printing Fiat Money, which causes INFLATION.

To contrast, Tariffs will soon generate income for the American People.
