In one of my State's cities, I hear Police are not even responding to Shoplifting amounting to less than $1000. WTH?
What small business can survive that?

LAWLESSNESS IS AN ATTACK ON SMALL BUSINESS WHICH IS THE BACKBONE OF THE AMERICAN ECONOMY.
90%+ OF ALL BUSINESS IN AMERICA IS SMALL BUSINESS.
Lawlessness is part of the Globalist Agenda Terrorism against the American Entrepreneur to drive small business out of business so they can WalMart/Amazon control everything while impoverishing the American People.

Since "shoplifting" is against the law - why is there a dollar amount involved? If they are stealing a napkin - that is still shoplifting. Now, granted that there could be circumstances that would need to be considered. Someone needs to feed their family or they lost their job and need something to eat. But the point of the law against shoplifting is to deter people from committing shoplifting in the first place. It is unreasonable to give them a dollar amount that will be excused. First of all, most shoplifters don't bother to look at the price tag - they just stuff it and take it outside. However, when the law says they will just look the other way on lesser dollar amounts - they are encouraging the shoplifting to continue. And do the lawmakers realize that the shoplifting will only escalate with time? DUH - these people are so STUPID.

Brandy IT'S DISGUSTING.
I had SERVICE businesses, but burglary was ALWAYS a concern. Back in those days, we had GREAT Police protection. I lived 4 minutes from my shops, when the Alarm went off, I met the Cops there at the edge of the Property same time, so response times to an ALARM was 4 minutes. (It was always a cat or bird! 😂) I knew all our Police officers. Once crooks stole my Dad's truck, and they found it within 20 minutes parked in the back of a local hotel (waiting for heat to dissipate)! Was great!

NOW, my wife was at the health store. 2 guys come in. Put $950 worth of stuff in 1 cart each AND WALK OUT! Employees screaming at them and the Robbers say, "We gotta eat, too!" They stole supplements! No Police response! (My wife was armed, but glad she didn't intervene - Police wouldn't have come!)

I have a temper.
I probably woulda smashed into their getaway car/van with my truck and pinned it in the parking lot. PRIVATE PROPERTY. Cops can't write tickets. OOPS! SUE ME!

Moving into the next phase of our Republic (a Nation of laws) - we need to be very specific about the enforcement of our laws. If the law does not need to be enforced - then it is not a law - it is a recommendation. Shoplifting (along with many other non-violent crimes) is against the law. Those who do it harm innocent people who paid for the merchandise in hopes of selling it NOT GIVING IT AWAY. I blame the enforcers for what those two thieves did in that store. These shoplifters have graduated into full blown thieves thanks to the lack of enforcement of the shoplifting laws. That may seem minor and even petty - but if shoplifting does not require enforcement - then take it out of the book of our LAWS. Now, I happen to know several local business owners who would DONATE supplies needed by someone who is IN NEED. I myself have donated my service to a client who had no money or lost a job. God blesses us beyond anything we can imagine.

Was not food, Ingrid.
They stole SUPPLEMENTS to resell them. Vitamins, Bottled health products - EXPENSIVE.
Criminals were in their 30's and appeared "Gangish", by my Wife's account of it.

They steal because they can. To obtain SNAP benefits, you must present your credentials at a government office and be approved. These people bypass that. Most of the shoplifters steal goods, then resell them for drugs or such.
