I pray they do that ASAP in Colorado before winter driving conditions set in and we have these illegal and undertrained commercial drivers on our curvy, steep mountain roads! Last year was a disaster. They know nothing about chain laws, cannot read the road signs that say "chains reqluired" and have had no training in the application of chains. ICE at chain stations and weight stations is imperative. πŸ˜‡

Carol, wasn't there a few years ago a massive collision where an ILLEGAL TRUCK DRIVER rammed his SEMI-TRACTOR-TRAILER-RIG AT HIGH SPEED into dozens of stopped cars on a Colorado Highway a few years ago that killed many, possibly an entire family in one car? Can you find that story and post it?

I once was a Commercial Driver, went through extensive training, and even had a small heavy equipment trucking company - AND WE WENT BY THE BOOK ON SAFETY AND DOT REGULATIONS to keep our Drivers and the Public SAFE and we had a perfect record no collisions, because SAFETY WAS JOB 1 and we were carrying Heavy Construction Equipment.
SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY!!!

Last winter ol-🀠 there were several accidents especially on I-70. I do believe there was a couple with fatalities, but I am not 100% sure. I do know there were many huge traffic backups several times on I-70 that put many people at risk for hypothermia as a result of freezing temps and people trying to stay warm in their cars. Also emergency vehicles had no way to reach those stuck in their cars. Even if people are not killed by an impact in these situations, many are put in danger in other ways. πŸ˜’

I remember seeing a news report a few years ago that an illegal alien driving a large semi-tractor trailer rig plowed into an interstate full of slow moving or stopped traffic resulting in deaths and maybe a whole family killed in one car. That's what stuck in my head. When I get some spare time I'll do some searching.
