Michelle, here's what I think really is going on.
This is a VERY OLD FIGHT between Russia & America vs. the Khazarian Mafia, and the Khazarian Empire was historically located in the region of Ukraine.
The Khazars. We weren't taught much about them on purpose, so we wouldn't know they exist.
The Khazars (not all Ukrainians) are Satanists, and they traditionally hunt, sacrifice and rape children, the worshipers of Molech & Baal. Russia has been fighting them since about the 9th Century, and the Soviets (Bolsheviks) who took over Russia and murdered the Romanov Family in 1917 were KHAZARS, not Russians, they only spoke Russian - so Putin and his Russian Bears are out to wipe them out once and for all.
So are we - because the Khazarian Mafia has also been AT WAR with America since they formed up against us on May 1, 1776 as the Illuminati.
So cooperation between Russia and America goes way back, even during the Civil War, and today and we are fighting the same ol' enemy.
