Texas power grid straining under cold, rolling outages or blackouts possible as soon as tonight: ERCOT - ABC13 Houston
The manager of Texas' electric grid is bracing for record electricity usage while managing unusually high power-generation problems that could lead to rolling blackouts, similar to the 2011 winter storm that led to the same outcome.

We have a cottage on a lake in Canada. So beautiful but I had to stay under my electric blanket at night + tons of thick blankets. I could see my breath when the fire places would go out at 3am. Used coleman lanterns. I was still cold. I am praying for Texans and all the pets. They make great heaters too.

Been particularly cold here this week. In the -40's with the wind chill. Takes your breath away. Definitely an excuse to cuddle ;)
