Why not use 20' & 40' SHIPPING CONTAINERS (try overlook the Cabal stigma), because they are totally weatherproof, secure & rodent proof & commonly are built into multi-story homes, even. Frame a front door and window in the front container opening, stake the steel container doors open, top those off with a sloped roof and that gives you an open, covered porch for using a propane BBQ or generator. Insulate, ventilate, add a small wood or pellet stove, a power source, composting toilet & interior water tank, sink, some basic electric and you have TOTALLY safe, secure and weatherproof shelter. Easily transported to the disaster site by roll-off truck w/ forklift. REUSEABLE. Won't blow over, set on railroad ties.
Cut down some pallet racks & turn them into adjustable bunk beds. Later cut in some windows, saving the metal cutouts as storm shutters - hinge those topside and brace open, close in bad weather.
Tell the building inspectors to go to hell - it's pre-engineered.

They are sturdy, and can be modified with a chop demo saw or a torch real fast!

I've even read that some people bury them beside a hill to make a hobbit house. What fun! Two containers back to back would make 40'x16' -- nice 640sf living space 👍

Containers have to be reinforced if buried because they are only designed to stack with the corners bearing weight, and will collapse with as little as 2' of dirt on them and they rust, but I think they are more ideal put side by side, walls cut to desire, welded together, even stacked with structural steel posts & such, but I don't like stairs much anymore...too hard dragging stuff up and down, so I'd go for the lateral approach, making sure the site location has excellent drainage, too. Thing is, a single 20' or 40' can be transported easy on roll-back trucks & converted FAST to emergency shelters and provide secure quarters, where one can sleep secure with a locked door such as a standard door framed or even sliding patio door, not like a tent that can blow over or be cut open with a knife. They are IDEAL and can quickly be insulated and modified. Need heat, put in a woodstove and pipe it out the wall, done.

You're really on to something there. NC needs these -- I'll send this information to the lady that's doing the shed homes for displaced people. I thought the containers would be more expensive than the sheds, but they're not. They could do two containers back to back for less than they're spending on those sheds.

That is correct, steel containers are ABUNDANT and not so expensive (wooden sheds ain't cheap either) and most common tow trucks can deliver a 20' container easily, but there are specialty roll-off trucks that literally can just grab them with hooks, pull them up and drop them off similar to trucks designed to deliver roll-off dumpsters but they're designed for delivery of ocean shipping containers.
WE ALL KNOW the Cabal used these for demonic/diabolic Human Trafficking, but they also are commonly used by good people and businesses for secure storage and can be VERY QUICKLY modified to be secure emergency homes. Wind can't blow them over and they are watertight and the locking doors can be staked open or flipped to the sides of the container locked open and then frame in a regular door or patio door sealed with caulking makes a normal in-out door needing only 1-2 steps to get in if the container set on RR Ties. They are 100% Structurally Sound and Safe.
