Exactly, I grew up poor. I started babysitting at 12, worked filing papers in an insurance office at 14, worked in a grocery store at 15.-18. Went to nursing school on money I saved. Worked as a nurse in ER/Critical Care for 50 years. 😇😉

Oh yes my brother and I always searched for soda bottles to get some money for the returns. He mowed lawns, worked as a "bag boy" in the grocery store and would get tips for taking the groceries to the car and loading them. Once he sold Christmas cards door to door. We did not get allowances either. 😉
