Started at 13 by choice, my mama didn't think anyone would hire me underage and said if I found someone she would take me back and forth. WELL I did. hahaha

Must be common for our generation. Starting working at 12. Worked on the farm picking tomatoes for 10 cents a peck. I was making about 30 dollars a week. Thought I was rich....

Exactly, I grew up poor. I started babysitting at 12, worked filing papers in an insurance office at 14, worked in a grocery store at 15.-18. Went to nursing school on money I saved. Worked as a nurse in ER/Critical Care for 50 years. 😇😉

I grew up poor too! And my parents wouldn't have coddled if we DID have money! We were the "working American kids"
