Do people know the history of the Jack O’Lantern?
It should give pause… THIS VERY DARK DAY.
On All Hallows Eve & the days preceding it
a Druid practice WAS TO SACRIFICE HUMANS
to appease the Gods & protect themselves.
Bands would go out & expect an offering;
money, food, but they also expected periodically
that the head of the household
would choose a human sacrifice from the household
& often it was a child.
That sacrifice would be prepared for sacrifice
& terrorized to adrenalize.
If someone gave their sacrifice
to these ‘priests’ practicing witchcraft
they would take a pumpkin
& put a candle in it made of human flesh
showing that household had made a sacrifice..
That’s the origin of the Jack O’Lantern,
A VERY VERY VERY DARK HISTORY.

There is an unspoken battle happening in my little town. Some of the christian folks are refusing to even acknowledge Halloween and are protesting it by putting up their Christmas decorations early. lol
The HOA responded to complaints by sending out a letter telling home owners they are not permitted to put up holiday decorations more than 45 days before the holiday.
( Ironically...Christmas is also pagan, but you get the sentiment.)
Something interesting to note...all of those who have elaborate Halloween decorations...also have a Harris sign in the yard.
