Lots and lots of damage to NC, GA, and TN.
God Bless the people!
We are not getting information about the area.
Rivers and roads are flooded! Asheville you cannot get to, all roads flooded. Airport closed. Bryson City under about 6 foot of water, entire small mountain towns wiped from the map.
Internet is down, landlines are emergency only, cell phones up and down and emergency only!
My family is ok. But NC was hit hard! TN hit hard, and N GA hit hard!
And virtually no communication, not even with the emergency radio weather station!

think. this is the end of a hurricaine, what happens as it travels hundreds of miles and then hits areas of trees hills and mountains.. it didnt slow down?/ it didnt stop? tell me again it was natural occuring.

It wasn't normal!
I will be on and off for the next week or so. Internet is rough with hotspot, cell phones and landlines are emergency only, No information is getting to the people! Weather radio says minimal, just weather and not much on flooding or instructions. God Bless the people!!!

We are doing reasonably well! We have food water, and we are not in any flood water! Necessities, we have, except running low on special needs diapers, will be out in a week, unless I can travel then.
I do not know if roads will be open in a week, or if it was just the grocery store will not be supplied for 4 weeks, Really tough for people around here to wait that long, so if roads can open up and stores are open elsewhere, I am sure many will drive! Gas stations included!
I do not have any updates on road conditions except that I heard 129 is flooded and closed. A lot of rivers, streams, bridges, and mountainous roads that could potentially be a huge risk atm. I was told only emergencies and emergency rews allowed out any distances.
My youngest is taking things much easier now that we found a way to get his movies to him. He will barely tolerate audible books and the radio, but he has been a champ through all of this so far! I am so proud!

Glad you are able to manage, and your youngest is coping now.
My only suggestion re the diapers, is perhaps think in terms of terry nappies... immaybe use towels cut to shape, pinned on, or if you have velcro, sew that on, or press studs, or hooks and eyes. and then washing them - of course, if water is in short supply, that may not be practical.
I hope very much you can get the supplies you need in time.
