I started buying serious tools in 1980 continued till 2006, have 2 boxes of master mechanic but nobody behind me will pick up the trade, somebody will get a full set when I go

I spent many hours tearing apart my Traeger only to find a 30 bucks part was the culprit. If I would have taken it to be repaired it would have been a couple hundred bucks

It’s funny that Traeger won’t give you a diagnostic manual their parts are expensive and if you don’t have a clue how to diagnose a problem you’ll spend hundreds on a simple cure

@ DJT look at manufacturers and see why they don’t want us to repair our own stuff. The Traeger grill is a perfect example. It’s a great product and it’s always been good to repair until recently

Traeger will work flipped and wires hanging out, as soon as you plug it in and blower comes on, you disconnected the right part, in my case it was the hot rod

It would have cost me more than it was worth to simply start unplugged things and trying power. Ended up with a 30 bucks part if you’re blowing fuses or tripping gfi turn grill on the handle on top of the wheels. Remove screen and unplug each connection and turn grill on. When you get to the one that shorted everything out and grill starts replace that part

Don’t worry about wiring if you’re Traeger isn’t working, flip it over and snip wire ties and start unplugging things till you find the problem

My Traeger is good it’s striped down so I can make sure everything works, pellets lit off and cackled like a 396 on the line, exelent smoke, did shut down and it was good

Since you have to cut all the wire ties to get the hot rod plug undone, all the YouTube guys are stupid. Simply drop the blower fan (4screws) and it’s easy to get the plug through the hole that’s a tight fit

My Traeger was popping the gfi every time I turned it on and hit smoke, I turned over to where it was resting on the handle above the wheels. Pulled the screen protecting the wiring under hopper, unplugged the purple and white wires plug, set it back down, plugged it in and turned it to smoke. Blower immediately came on. Unplugged it again and cut the wire ties to the hot rod. Replaced it and grill works again. Giant ribeye coming

Doctor told me to take injections to make my bones stronger after I broke L1 , every time I get the injections my joints and bones hurt for a few days
