Same was done to the colonists b4 the Rev War. It took a handful of brave men to stand up to see what the Brits were doing & they did it slowly, little by little but eventually when the colonists didn't comply everything was taken & under the Brits control. Some didn't believe it until all was gone, that's when many awakened.
