It depends on the seeds they are planting. GMO's start in the seed, it's up to the farmer how much toxic stuff is sprayed on it.
Also have seen videos of some sellers at farmers markets buying the same produce the grocery stores are selling and selling at the farmers markets.
Only way to know 100% sure is to grow your own and have a seed company you can trust... and hope they aren't being swindled.
