My pop told me when I was 18 that nobody is going to give you a retirement. I started saving when I was 24, never stopped and maxed out retirement accounts. That was in 76., he was right. I did 15 years in a supermax and do have a 3400 a month retirement, but the only reason I got that was dealing with the worst of the worst. social security will try to make the least payment possible. Caught them cold when I had them revue employment history and they said I fell 4 years short. My payment went from 2300 a month to 2100 and I can live with that.
