So far, the borehole tilt data at Yellowstone has been shut down. There has been an uptick in activity from Mammoth Vault down to Yellowstone Lake. They've been censoring and scrubbing data. There are harmonic tremors at Little West Thumb (west side of the lake).

They shut the park today. They NEVER shut down the Park. They might be concerned about a hydrothermal explosion, which is an isolated eventโ€”yet dangerous. We'll see what happens.

Gardiner is not in Wyoming but Montana, north of Mammoth.

No fear porn here or anything. I've watched Yellowstone for over 30 years. I'm an earth nut. lol But the geologists are obviously seeing something other than flooding. Would they admit that?๐Ÿ˜†

The park is never shut down. There is no flooding in Yellowstone proper. Look at all the cams in the original post. And borehole data was taken down before any rain or flooding (in Montana) began.

Steamboat Geyser just went off on the 10th. I've forecast that eruption 6 times in a row now. There are always signs.

I dont think Yellowstone is capable of anything big given that it releases so regularly. I picture it as a broken pressure cooker.

As far as caldera volcanoes go, its likely to be far more interesting at campi flegrei under naples, although that is also capable of smaller releases (hopefully).

As for north america specific geology, i would consider a large thrust quake under washington/oregon, given that the subducting Juan de Fuca is adding more compression to the above plate.

As for volcanism there, there are plenty of patriots watching for harmonic termors at raniner/hood etc.

As Mike from the Morning DEW channel says "be aware and prepared, stay young and have fun" or as Ben from Suspicious Observers says "Eyes open, no fear, be safe everyone"

Rainier has proven to be a sign in the past few years of pressure on the Juan de Fuca. There is also an increasing trend of energy incoming from the sun during the day that causes faults to be more "excited." That can easily be seen on seismographs for the past 3 - 4 years. Yellowstone seismographs can be viewed for many years before now, and are a good indicator of how the sun is changing our geology. Plus there's the HAARP influence and weather modification as well (radar station pulsing, etc.).

We're not talking about a huge eruption at YS, but a potential hydrothermal explosion.

Neither Mike or SO, in my opinion, are experts on earthquakes or volcanoes. For earthquakes, turn to Dutchsinse. For volcanoes, Nick Zenter. Just my 2 cents. They have proven histories in those fields.๐Ÿ’™
