in following that train of thought, I'd say it depends on your perception of time.. Time as relative to the observer. This observer can choose to shift perspectives of time given their conscious awareness within the observing state, or naturally without fully realizing it has been done. This could be as simple as someone saying "it feels like just yesterday we were here" ~ while this same Timeframe to someone else Feels like it was long ago. Similar to the idea that an hour felt a lot longer when we were younger, the core of this seems to be our perception or Feeling of the passage of time. Now, if we look at those beautiful moments where time seems to stand still or even becomes completely irrelevant, there we fluently transcend 4th dimensional thought process and enhance spiritual clarity of our existence outside of time. Thus, linear reality can be seen for what is, a perception. A construct. And ultimately, a non-barrier to the limitless eternal being we know our selves to be.. :)

From my own experience time went slower when I was a kid because we didn't have deadlines or the worries we have now. Summers went by fast and the school year dragged on. When I became a teenager time dragged by because I was waiting to be 18 because I thought there would be some miracle of adulthood attached to it.
My grandmother worked her little hiney off raising kids, preparing food for storage and meals. Making and repairing clothes and worrying if there would be enough money for shoes. Grandad plowed the fields for grain for their livestock with a workhorse and plow. There were tractors but he couldn't afford one or the gas to run it. Before he could plow he had to clear a field by cutting down trees that were cut up for firewood, and using dynamite for the stumps. He looked older than his years because he worked from morning til dusk and your body does wear out. After all was said and done he said he wouldn't change a thing.
