AND in a good climate region, it can produce two or three harvests per year! Bugs hate it, nothing eats it, weeds don't stand a chance as it naturally smothers/chokes out everything where it grows, and only pretty much needs sunlight and water! NOTHING lasts as long in salt water which is why shipping still uses only hemp rope exclusively, and then for a real shocker, check out the difference in hemp and wood for papermaking!

Down here in our river valley in good seasons we get 5 cuttings of alfalfa. Hemp could easily mimic that. I envision a future with hemp as a leading agricultural crop. Traditional farmers are hesitant to embrace but the tide is changing slowly but surely.

The true reason hemp was outlawed was lobbyists and the rise of artificial chemical fibers attempting to replace it. They made such a stink about "how to tax it" it wound up being outlawed due to no ability to come to a tax agreement!
