For those of you who feel very close with god, how did that happen? Was it always that way for you even as a child, or did you have some sort of spiritual awakening that brought you closer with god?

I used to think I was bothering God by asking him stuff, but my life got really hard (my own doing) and I had no one else to talk to, so I just started having conversations with God. If i needed something it was always provided, it was not always easy but I was always taken care of. And if i let God handle the hard parts instead of me trying to do it myself, he always showed me that he took care of whatever much better than I ever could. So there was no big thing that got me there, just a need to not feel alone and my life has changed drastically.
