White As Snow
Isaiah 1:18
"Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

What a beautiful time of year it is! Right now, if you look out your window, no doubt you are going to see snow, and lots of it! It certainly is pretty. The snow is nice to look at, and you know, it can serve as a reminder to us for something that comes straight out of the Word of God.

In the Old Testament the prophet Isaiah gives us a wonderful, wonderful thought. The verse in chapter 1:18 is so special. It says, "Come now, and let us reason together," says the Lord, "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool." - that beautiful white fluffy wool! White as snow!

I grew up in Michigan and snow

and snow was just a way of life - lots of it - everywhere! If we look at the snow, it is a reminder of the goodness of God. I can remember many times waking up in the morning and just looking out the window at the freshly fallen covering of snow. I do not think there is anything that is much prettier than that.
The Lord tells us that if we come to Him in confession, in repentance, He will take the ugly sins that we have in our life and wash them away, and make us as pure and as white as that freshly fallen snow. What a beautiful picture of God's forgiveness! Though our sins be like scarlet and crimson, God says, "I will get rid of all that. I will take it away and I will wash you white as snow."

David knew the meaning of these verses and found true grace in them and in God's mercy. In Psalm 51, after he had sinned and fallen into adultery with Bathsheba, he wrote about the Lord and said, "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow."

I do adore the snow, especially how it gracefully embraces everthing, and how it sparkles in the sunlight. I Iive in Colorado and have missed not having much snow so far this winter in the front range. I live in the mountains and never tire of the beauty of a snowfall. It is also fun! Cross- country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding! 😇

Yeah sorry but Nana would probably die if I had to live in the city. I did it once for a bit, miserable!

Believe me, if you lived in the snowbelt like me, where the snow piles up for months sometimes, you would dread winter the way I do 😁😁😁

But I guess if you rarely get snow and it allows you the oppurtunity to do some outdoor activities with the grandkids, then by all means enjoy!

I do understand, spent a couple of yrs in Kokomo Indiana yrs ago. I do remember how beautiful it was but also how nasty it was piled up dirty on the roadsides all winter.
A bit different here we have wet snow and when I was up there it was more of a dry snow.
When we get it in TN roads are horribly slick.
Nana happily stays home.
My son in law has every vehicle known to man, can take me anywhere.
He loves this shit, he builds rock crawlers.
My grandkids have their own smaller versions of them.
The 3 yr old is a daredevil already, and my 12 yr old grandgirl can out drive most men already.

I'm in central Illinois, born and raised in Indiana, so snow is not my favorite thing..lol. They kept saying last week we were going to be getting between 2-4 inches of snow and up north would get even more than that. we got half an inch of freezing rain and a dusting of snow and they didnt get near what they were predicting up north. of course when they say nothing will happen, we get a foot of snow..lol.

we got a good amount of snow here in Murfreesboro ladt night too. It was so pretty falling from the sky. I love the quietness of snow.
