What the post does not mention is that while the program was initiated in insane asylums & prisons in the 1950's it was expanded into experimentation on unwitting soldiers in the US army during the 1960s. Not just prisoners but US military personnel WHO WERE DRAFTED during the Vietnam War. So these young men were ordered into service under the threat of prison and then experimented on without their permission or knowledge bc the US government OWNED them. That is textbook Slavery.
