Something I have yet to see regarding this incident is any mention that Alec Baldwin had a starring role in The Hunt for Red October, a major Hollywood film from 1990 based on the Tom Clancy novel of the same title. Since it is a huge 'catch-phrase' for the Q drops and a time frame we are all currently experiencing, I'd venture to say the whole incident has major 'Comms' all over it.

Do you notice that first sentence? This is not an apology "I did this and I'm sorry". He has put the blame onto the tragic accident. You see, the tragic accident took the life of Halyna, not him.
