If I could share, I would. I simply don't know. However, the entire internet originated in the Military-Industrial complex & bedfellows of 3-ltr agencies. There's only one way to make new, and it is to divest/destroy and not repurpose the old. It must be new.

It's a wise practice that most individuals procrastinate, so there's that part.
However, yes, if you have large caches of photo's or files in the Cloud (Social Media, Tax prep companies, medical, legal, etc.) - you may not be able to retrieve them due to a number of different "end game" scenarios.
Think of the "loss", had FB/IG/WhatsApp not come back up yesterday...
A 1TB SSD is relatively inexpensive, ($75-$99).
