Did you know: The statue of Liberty has more to do with the Abolition of Slavery and nothing to do with immigrants coming to the US for freedom? It was given to the US in 1883. Laboulaye , an ABOLITIONIST (!) wished to commemorate the centennial of the Declaration of Independence as well as celebrate the close relationship between France and America. He was equally moved by the recent ABOLUTION of SLAVERY in the U.S., which furthered America’s ideals of liberty and freedom. Sculptor Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi was of like mind with Laboulaye’s cause,

The immigrant meaning confusion exists because of the E. Lazarus' poem which was added in 1903. Our schools / universities need to return to classical education paradigms instead of speculative, subjective conclusions. If we begin with the wrong premise, we end up OUTSIDE of the truth~!

Well we have the Capitol and the Washington Monument destined to be obliterated, I guess the Statute of Liberty has to join them. I have some trouble with that one due to all the immigrants whose eyes fell on it as they arrived in our country at the turn of the century. To them it was a chance for opportunity to live their lives in a way far different from where they came from . But if it has to go it has go. There will much being removed once all explodes out and the public becomes aware of what has been going on.
