This is the law of the land in Thailand.
So much fruit is available everywhere... people feel free to pick from any tree as they're walking along.

We're about to close on a new home on 4 acres... It already has blackberries (LOL - doesn't every place in Alabama?)...
We're putting in raspberries, strawberries, blueberries & a huge organic garden.
We're building a garden of eating!

that's wonderful.....you'll be able to extend your knowledge to the community and show them how to grow such succulent berries in parks and playgrounds, along sidewalks.....

This is just while we wait out hub's last 3 years of employment...
After he retires, we want about 40 acres, so we can teach homesteading, gardening, animal husbandry, cheese- & candle-making, etc.
A place to teach old-tyme skillz & help city kids learn the joy that growing a garden brings!
Pottery classes, butter-making, goat-milking, leather-making, & whittling...
All have the extra bonus of settling your mind into a nice, comfy place... it's a form of meditation, actually!

Sheep require a LOT of attention & maintenance... Why not stock Boer goats? They're very hardy, independent, & they come when they're called.
Plus, they multiply like mad & because the Boer has a double layer of muscle, they make great steaks!
Plus, they improve the quality of the soil.
Depending on your area, a male llama might be the perfect livestock guardian!
Hit me up if you have any questions - this is exactly what we're planning to teach folks!

What part of the country?
Alpacas are hardy, but they are brainless... like sheep.
Why not go with Kashmere Goats? Best of both worlds... plus, the fiber is the most valuable you'll find anywhere...
Get to carding, dyeing, spinning & weaving...
Or just card into rolags & sell on Ebay! You can get $130/lb for Kashmere.

In that case, I would go with Kashmere goats & male llamas for livestock guardians.
Did you know? A llama can take down a black bear if it should decide to molest your 4-legged friends!
Plus, llamas have lovely fiber as well! I had a gorgeous black/white male, Armando, who had long hair... His fleece was the easiest to spin & made an incredibly soft wool.
You could make a good bit of cash selling the fiber from both of these species.
It helps that they have the same food & vet requirements, too!

That may be...
But the bears will NOT run from your goats!
I was in Texas, with a huge coyote population. I never had any casualties, ever...
When I was walking the South Pasture, seeding it, I nearly tripped over something that caught my foot.
It was the dehydrated remains of a good-sized coyote, all leather & bone now.
There was not a bone in it larger than a sugar cube.
That's the beauty of llamas!
