I think it is AI.. there is something about the crowd movements that looks a bit odd, and the page is run by a tech company that does AI.
Have always liked the idea of visiting Venice during Carnival. 😊

I have been to Venice and ridden on the gondolas. We visited the last place that builds them the ole style, well when we went in the early 90's. It was beautiful! I would visit again one day, if offered the opportunity!!!💛💛💛

Yes, people say it smells and is dirty, that was not our experience in 2003, (we started a cruise there), I definitely would go back, wanted much more time than the day and a half we got.

I don't remember it smelling. When we went to Paris, there was a smell and garbage everywhere, but Venice, was beautiful and remarkable!!! How was your cruise? I am not good with cruises, I get sea sickness. 😎

I was sea sick for 2 weeks on a school cruise in 1978, on a small ship, but the big cruise ships do not move as much. We had one evening of slightly rough seas, and you could hear the waves sounding on the hull.
Having a balcony helped as I was able to get fresh air and see the horizon, and get away from people 😁
We arranged our own cruise not a package - Venice, Athens, Istanbul, Izmir, Pompeii, Monte Carlo, and Barcelona. We got to ride a bus from Pireaus to Athens as the subway was closed for rennovations for the Olympics. Getting back was interesting as we had to find a taxi that was going that way before the ship left port!
Venice and Barcelona were our favorites.
Barcelona runs tour busses you buy your ticket then get on and off as many times as you like in the day. We saw a lot of the city that way.
We took a train to Gerona to get our flight back to the UK, it was certainly an experience!
We were younger then! 🤣🤣

Wow, your school did a school cruise? Pretty cool!!! Our school trip in 9th grade was to Canada to the largest mall at that time, had a water slide and everything in it. And in high school, I did foreign exchange with a girl in Kassel, Germany and to Berlin where we crossed through checkpoint Charlie. Visited a death camp, the Olympic stadium, and the fountains of Kassel.
Your mention brings up memories, TY!!! I needed this this morning!!! Puts a smile on my face!!! 💛
And as far as the sea sickness, I can get it on the huge cruise ships easy enough for some reason, but smaller boats on a choppy lake I seem to do fine with? Anyways, if I am not driving a car, I usually will get car sick, and can't look around at anything. So when I get those car shots on the dragon, I am not driving, but I do get car sick. lol
Ever since visiting Chamonix and the mountain top, I got altitude sickness, my motion sickness seemed to develop.

I used to get car sick a lot as a kid. Driving from Glasgow to Edinburgh to visit grandparents, we would get just past the coal mines (smell of sulphur) and I would have to have them stop!
Later, if I was not driving I would have to sit in the front and look straight ahead. It has improved.
I think it is to do with over sensitive cillia in the inner ear. As we age they become less responsive, however, your experience at altitude seems to have prolonged their activity, it is debilitating and spoils the experience.
I cannot imagine a school doing a cruise today!
We flew to Naples, sailed to Alexandria, took buses to Cairo, back through the desert, then Cypress, Izmir, Athens, ending on the other side of Italy at Brindisi.
All the teachers did was count heads! But, we were disciplined enough to be in a certain place when told. It was an amazing experience to see the Pyramids, and Acropolis. We were very lucky to have teachers brave enough to do a trip like that.

I had a friend who did the exchange experience also with a German girl, but I think it was in a rural area, I do not recall.
She also did a skiing trip- but I think the cruise was far more exciting. 😊
We had grand experiences back then. I feel sorry for kids today, the teachers do not want the responsibility for fear of lawfare, so their kids lose out.
For example, on one of the days at sea, we did classes to prepare us for the next country, then we had deck games, like deck hockey - using a small cp8l of rope.
In one game one if the boys tried to pick up the rope as someone else was about to hit it... he got a pretty good crack on the head and bled all over... but a couple of stitches in the boat infirmary and some pain killers and he was back at it next day... Can you imagine that scenario today??
I forgot, we also stopped at Santorini, and I rode a donkey up the 199 steps. 😁
It really was an experience of a lifetime.

Wow, reading all those places, is exciting to see!!! It must have been magnificent!!!
I went on a several countries tour with my mom early 90's I think. We went to England, Wales, Paris, Brussels, Chamonix France, Austria, Venice and Rome Italy, Switzerland by cable car, and traveled by train once we got there by plane.
In Austria, my mom gave me a few choices on the trip. the Louvre, and also the Sound of Music Tour in Austria.
I am sure there are some other places in there that I have forgotten already. And some other trips were to Bermuda, and Scotland.
I would Love to visit Ireland some day!!! And the Isle of Sky!!!
