With the signing of the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, Trump is reintroducing the use of whole milk in school lunches, in line with new nutritional guidelines. The law directly impacts childhood nutrition plans, changing their very foundations. It follows the new federal nutritional guidelines, which once again recommend the consumption of full-fat dairy products, recognizing them as an integral part of a healthy and balanced diet. This marks the end of a period that began way back in 2012, when the Obama administration, with the passage of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act, restricted whole milk in schools, favoring skimmed or semi-skimmed versions in an effort to combat childhood obesity.
