I went to the store tonight to get some essentials. Not much extra these days for that piece of chocolate cake my weary heart was calling out for, or that package of cinnamon rolls ($9.99!!). Nope. Keep going, keep going, I told myself, even though my heart (and stomach) remained with those sweets. Having seen my latest electric bill today, along with learning that my City utility bill is going to jump another $30 as of next month (!!!), I had reached maximum velocity in terms of being financially crunched today. Part of me wanted to stomp my feet. I JUST WANTED THE RIGHT TO AFFORD A BLEEPING PIECE OF CHOCOLATE CAKE.
To be able to AFFORD that very basic of a treat.
