Today I have been focused on doing Christmas preparations, from deciding what food to eat for the meal to writing my Holiday Poem to wrapping presents. Tonight, as I wrapped presents, I brought my CD player back with me to the bedroom. I went through the radio stations seeking some Christmas music. Having taken piano lessons with one of the top jazz pianists in Portland, Oregon for almost 10 years, playing ever since, I was born to play music. The piano just seems to be "my" instrument. This makes listening to music and enjoying it - well - difficult at times. My brain is always trying to play each and every note, each percussion beat.
After all of this mental exercise, I have realized something: There must not be enough room in my brain to take that all in and remember the lyrics too. There is one thing in which I utterly absolutely miserably fail when it comes to music: Understanding the lyrics. I mess this up BIG TIME.
