I am so glad that 20 years ago i made the decision to cancel 'health insurance'. When I need to see a doctor I don't go to a general practitioner, I go straight to the specialist. When I call to set an appointment, 100% of the time they tell me I have to have a referral. I tell them to get the doctor or manager on the phone. Things change quickly when I tell them I pay cash on the spot. One time the call didn't work so I went down there and while I was at the counter explaining she couldn't deny me the appointment the doctor was walking by. I asked him for 30 seconds - and at the end of that 30 seconds he gave his employee an angry look and ordered her to set the appointment.
And while this was a pain in the butt it was still less frustrating than arguing with an insurance company. I realized that one simply has to calmly train them to comply.
If the doctor doesn't know the value of cash, If they don't agree that it's now a partnership - they aren't worth going to.

My whole household has NO HEALTH INSURANCE by choice (and also due to economic priorities).
After I saw what "hospitals" were doing to our People during COVID, I decided I wouldn't give ANY MONEY to hospitals OR to my health insurance company anymore, because they were engaged in Crimes Against Humanity. They were literally (and still are in most cases) MURDERING PEOPLE.
The BENEFIT as cash patient...that also gave me more control over my health care and health care of loved ones, because THE HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY CANNOT DICTATE TREATMENT.
When I had to go to the ER on 2 occasions since COVID, once for my wife once for my dad, the "Doctors" did exactly what I told them to do and did EVERYTHING they could to get them treated, stabilized and out of the ER as fast as possible, and that's how it always should be.
Who KNOWS what would have happened if I presented them a Health Insurance Card.
Probably would have locked my wife in a COVID WARD even I already cured her with HCQ.
